The Tudors Season 4

One of my favourite TV Shows, The Tudors, is about to begin season 4. This is a fantastic show, and that whilst it is not all historically accurate, that I believe has sparked the interest of this time period with many others. It showes that history isnt 'boring', and has many ineresting and crazy characters (certinaly the story for the main character, Henry VIII).

For those who do not know here is a quick run through the first 3 seasons up until the current. Season 1 we saw a young king, with his first wife Catherine of Aragon. Here Henry VIII begins his deadly affair with the young Anne Boleyn who makes promises of the king's biggest dream, a son. We see the struggle to get the king's divorce, the downfall of Cardinal Wolsey and the beginning of the creation of the Church of England.

Season 2 saw the kings 'great matter' finally resolved, the rise and fall of Anne Boleyn, the birth of a daughter, and the rise of Thomas Cromwell. As we see the marriage between Anne and Henry breakdown we see the beginning of a romance between Henry and Jane Seymore. At the end of the series we witness Anne Boleyn's execution, and the demotion of both Henry's daughters from Princess to Lady.

In season 3 Henry marries his true love, Jane Seymour. She bears him a son, but with a cost, her life. We watch Henry struggle with the diffuclty of losing his most beloved wife. Henry then marries Anne of Cleves, his fourth wife. We watch as the loveless marriage, initiated by Thomas Cromwell, fails and results in divorce. Towards the end of this season Henry begins a flirtatiuos affair with the not-so-innocent, Katherine Howard.

Season 4 we will see the destruction of Katherine Howard, and Henrys final pursuit into madness. He takes on a sixth wife, who has already been married and widowed twice.

I am very excited to see what will happen with this final season of The Tudors, as I ahave found it a facinating series so far. For a preview of the next series, please watch the video below.
