This day in history

Wow! Busy day in Tudor history. Today:



- In 1534 the Act of Succession was passed to recognise the rights and position of King Henry VIII's daughters, Mary (Mother: Queen Catherine of Aragon) and Elizabeth (Queen Anne Boleyn) to succeed to the throne of the Kingdom of England.



- In 1540 the last monastery in England surving, Waltham Abbey, was surrendered to King Henry VIII
